"My Boxer Pup Vickie and I met Keara last winter at the dog park on Wilson Street when there was too much snow on the trails for the dogs. Keara has a boxer as well and we chatted about the breed for several minutes. We arranged to get Vickie out with Keara, Zia and the rest of the pack shortly after that. Keara is always punctual, very pleasant and communicative. Vickie is thrilled when she sees her! My pup has learned so much! We have known Keara now for two years and in that time she has demonstrated a passion for dogs. To people she may come across as little on the quiet side but to a dog she has a calming confident connection with all she encounters. We have a strong willed and very energetic german short hair pointer who is not yet 4 years until July, it takes a special person to have the patience and persistence to work with such a strong willed and busy animal. Keara has had Wrigley over night and on adventure hikes and we have never once worried about Wrigley’s well being. An animal speaks volumes if you listen and that is one thing Keara does with all the dogs she works with. We have recommended Keara to many we believe in her and her abilities. My husband and I could not be happier with the care Oscar, our Boxer, receives from Keara every week. Oscar runs out to greet her with his tail wagging nonstop, jumps into her truck, he won’t do that to get in our car, and returns home happy and tired. The videos and pictures Keara provides are top quality and we share them happily with family and friends. Oscar will not eat the day after his hike, this is consistent, he waits on top of the stairs obviously hoping his phenomenal friend is coming back for him. We could not recommend Keara more highly. -Charlyne, Murray and Oscar Ashford Amazing results after 2 days I am still amazed at what a HUGE difference I have noticed in my 21 month old boxer after just being with Keara for 2 days. Polo has been an amazing addition to the family, however with 2 young kids, his training was falling behind. He had come to us from the breeder crate trained.. and then lets say we reversed that work when he came home! This resulted in him looking and getting into lots of trouble around the house. His recall also was very spotty! I decided to send him for a weekend with Keara for a little tune up. Not only is she amazing with all the dogs in her pack (from big to small), I was especially keen as she also has a boxer and understands this breed! Of course I was going to miss my boy over the weekend, but she sent me lots of updates and videos of their training sessions. I was SO proud of my boy Polo. When I went to pick him up he was a calm little pup… usually he would jump up and attack you with kisses from excitment….but he learned how to stay calm (OK I learned that too!). That night.. Polo slept IN HIS CRATE! No crying.. no whining…. no barging into my room and sleeping on my bed. It’s been such a huge game changer for me. I don’t need to be yelling at him to get out of whatever he’s into and he is way more relaxed knowing the crate is his safe space. Last night I was making dinner and he was looking for trouble. I said, “Polo.. BED” . And he went into his crate… and went to sleep. Door open. IN regards to listening and recall, I took him to a very busy dog park the same day I picked him up. His listening was night and day, and recall was 100% better. I looked like a star in that dog park as my dog listened and stayed out of a fight another dog was trying to engage him in. I found Keara with Parkside Pups on a recommendation from a neighbour in February 2019, when my GSD Scotia was only 6 months old. I was struggling with her anxiety as a first time dog mom, and desperate for a safe place to socialize Scotia and to work on her confidence outside of my home. The second that Keara stepped into my home to meet Scotia, I knew that she would be a perfect fit. Scotia trusted Keara right away, and as a dog who normally took weeks to warm up to anyone, I knew that this was meant to be. Keara took Scotia on daily pack walks with such confidence and love, and Scotia was forever changed from that first pack walk. Keara was able to transform Scotia from a scared, unsure, and fearful pup to a confident, socialized, and interactive pack member in such a short time. The skills that Keara gave her have carried Scotia through cross country moves, new packs, and new friends with ease. When I introduced a second dog, Bama, into my family in 2019, I knew Keara had to be the first to meet her. Bama was an extremely sweet but fearful rescue, and I couldn’t wait to see the work that Keara could do with Bama. It was love at first sight for Bama, just like her big sister, and both girls could never get out the door fast enough when Keara came to pick them up for their daily pack walks! I attribute so much of their manners and socializing skills to Keara’s strong and passionate dog training abilities. Keara has such a deep understanding of dogs and how they think, and it shows with the control she maintains on her pack walks. The mutual respect that her and the dogs have for each other is SO transparent. Having accompanied her on many pack walks, I have been able to witness first hand how much every single dog appreciates and respects her authority, and how she knows the quirks and intricacies of every single dog. She loves every dog as if they were her own, and provides the highest level of care and attention to all dogs in her pack! We are so grateful for Keara and Parkside Pups! With our busy schedules, it's such a big help knowing our energetic boxer is getting the exercise she needs. Pita is so excited to see Keara when she comes to pick her up! The socialization and training that Pita has received with Keara has helped us immensely. Not only does she offer incredible adventure hikes, but Pita has boarded with Keara as well. It was such a relief to be able to go out of town and know that Pita was being well looked after and cared for like she was part of Keara's family! We don't know what we would do without Keara - she's amazing!!
